It is an honor

A few of us got together last week for a planning session and one thing that came up was this:

James 1:27 (New Living Translation)
Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father means that we must care for orphans and widows in their troubles, and refuse to let the world corrupt us.

This is what makes Watoto so amazing.. they are doing exactly this! Not only are they looking after the orphans, but they are also looking after the widows. In Uganda, women don't have the same rights and freedom as we do here in the western world, so when their husbands die from Aid's or the like, they are abandoned. Much the same as the children. So when Watoto build these houses, they find these women, and save them from a life of hunger, abandonment and poverty, and give them a life of worth. They are given an instant family to care for, and a community to belong to. Most importantly, they are given a life with Christ.

I am honored to be a part of this.

We are a few friends, getting together to raise the £8000 needed to build a home in Uganda for Watoto Ministries. This home will house 6-8 aids-orphaned kids and a house mother in Kampala, Uganda. We are very excited to be doing this, and this blog is to keep people informed on how much we have raised, and what fundraising events we have coming up around London in the next 9 months!

We thank everyone for their support, and who knows... We might be able to raise enough money for maybe 2 or 3 houses!
